Catherine Redfearn, Principal
Before founding Partners for Place, Catherine worked extensively in rural historic and landscape preservation. At Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s home and a World Heritage site, Catherine was in charge of viewshed analysis for the property, identifying the surrounding landholdings where development would degrade the context of the historic site. She also helped manage a major visitor center construction project for the Foundation. Catherine has also worked with the Virginia Outdoors Foundation, a statewide land trust, managing and overseeing conservation easements.
Catherine holds a Bachelors degree in Architectural History and Historic Preservation and a Masters degree in Urban and Environmental Planning with a concentration in Urban Design from the University of Virginia. She also holds a certificate in Marketing and Graphic Design. She has traveled extensively across Europe, the Caribbean and Mexico, but she calls Charlottesville, Virginia home.
